Dutch National Geographic asked Peter to go on an assignment to take pictures of porpoises. As these wonderful creatures are very shy in open waters, we visited Fjord & Baelt in Kerteminde, Denmark, where four rescued harbour porpoises (Phocoena phocoena) live in a part of the harbour. Though their environment is fenced, the animals can still decide to pose for a picture, or… not to pose for a picture, as their home is very large.

It took a few days, but finally Freja, her daughter Frigg Amandaa, Egil and Sif were acting as real underwater models. We want to thank everyone at Fjord & Baelt for the warm welcome! The pictures were published in the January 2010  issue of Dutch National Geographic, and several other issues.
